To answer the question, winning cures everything and IMO it will take a new coach to do that.

It's not like Dooley coaches these players personally on technique. That's the assistant's job and I think we've really upgraded in that department. Unless Dooley is the guy that's been teaching our OL to be complete pansies the last couple years, it's hard to blame him for the weak results

ETA: I am by no means a Dooley supporter, I just find it hard to blame him for everything that has been going wrong.

Even if we sell out the stadium it will still be an average noise level because all of the old people (60% of the fanbase) never stand up and yell.

In related news, since 2005 Tennessee has a better record than Texas A&M.

We actually have the exact same record, 47-41.

So since 2005, our programs have been equal amounts of garbage

This.

So which team has the greater upside?

For fun, throw mississippi schools into that mix.

At least Ole Miss has had some moments in the last few years. The 2008 victory over Florida, the Cotton Bowl wins against TTU and Okie State, both of the victories over LSU.

I can't believe we lost to them twice.

Why would we bring back a coach this is largely responsible for this mess?

Would it be a good idea to widen the bleacher seats to actually fit the girth of the fans, to create ticket demand?

My best football related memory in that same time span is the slightly damaged couch I picked up the night Kiffin bolted for LA. Only the left fourth of it or so was burned and you can't even see it if you cover it with a blanket.

If you put it on eBay you may get several offers from West Virginia fans.

So even with reduced ticket sales UT would still sell out almost every stadium in the SEC based on thier sizes.

Bullcrap. It's the opponent team fans that are filling your stadium, because tickets are always available. Thanks for building the big stadium, UT, we are enjoying it.

not trying to flame here, but when was the last time UT was at least decent... 9 win season base??

They won 10 games in 07.
We still beat them 59-20 though.

Our 2007 team was somewhat of a mystery. They dragged Arkansas and Georgia up and down the field, but got slaughtered by an admittedly good Florida team, mediocre Cal and Alabama teams, gave up a 21-0 lead against a mediocre SCar, was down 24-9 against Vanderbilt in the fourth quarter, and gave up a 31-14 lead against Kentucky and had to block a field goal in OT to keep from losing.

2006 team was better.

Maybe I'm wrong, but even during the dark days Alabama fans always represented and traveled well.

I would think since they are the only game in town SEC wise (Vandy doesn't count) they would turn out through thick and thin.

I was struck in 2009 how poorly they traveled for the Alabama game.

Not everybody is as dedicated as we are, I guess. Fair Weather fans? Signs point to "yes."
