Hearing that Terrell Suggs tore his achilles playing Basketball..will miss the season..seems Upshaw landed in the perfect spot with Baltimore if true.

saw that too. Hell of a good post.

fwiw, I think Upshaw would have started anyway over Paul Kruger but now he definitely will.

Sorry to hear that. Suggs had a hell of a season last year.

I think Upshaw was drafted to play the SAM spot with the loss of Jarret Johnson, but I'm sure he'll at least get a look at Suggs' position now.

Yeah, it's really never a blessing. You want the most guaranteed money and if you are good enough you will crack the starting lineup anyways.

Very true...I just look at it like Upshaw will get a look at Suggs spot since Upshaw is a better pass rusher than he is cover guy obviously. I know teams were concerned about his weight, but it seems the perfect fit for his game...Suggs position I mean....on a Superbowl contender at that too.

He is blessed to go to the Ravens more than dropping to the 2nd round.

Yeah, I get what you are saying, but I'm not sure blessing is the word, I think opportunity is. Upshaw is a good edge rusher, but how is he with his hand in the dirt?

good although it won't matter in Baltimore. They run a 3-4.

It does matter if he's taking over for suggs. Suggs is a down and a stand up rusher.

Schefter seems to think it will be Kruger or Kindle at the other spot and that Upshaw would have started anyway fwiw.

Upshaw had said all along his best conversations were with the ravens. The ravens were able to trade their late 1st round pick and still pick up upshaw who they were planning on taking with there first round pick good move on the ravens part just bad that it caused upshaw to slip to the 2nd round $ wise.

Upshaw will make his real money on public speaking gigs, endorsements, and self defense classes.

No doubt that he is in arguably the best position he could ask for in Baltimore. Now he just needs to go sack Brady a few times.

Prior to the Suggs injury I thought Upshaw was a bazillon times more blessed than Trent who landed in Cleveland
