Matt Price is the best closer in the SEC. There is nobody else I would want on the mound with the bases loaded and nobody out. Been there, done that on college baseball's biggest stage.

No idea what they are as a closer. He started the year as a starter and moved back into the pen about a month ago. just google 2010 and 2011 cws.

Thread summary....
There are a lot of good pitchers in the SEC.
Stratton and Littrell have great stats.
Gausman, Stanek, Wood, Whitson, Astin, etc. have great stuff.
Roth, Randall and Baxendale have the lifetime achievement award.
Austin Maddox is the best closer.

Another homer post, but i think its Goody. 28 innings 32 strike outs, 2 bb's with a .078 era. A lot of these stats were compiled taking ovr in the ninth clinging to a one run lead. While Ya'll may not think he belongs in the conversation, I dont think narrin one of ya want see this cat on the bump. If he's there, means your prolly behind, and the row to hoe is dam long and dam tough.

Ryne Stanek, IMO.

Stanek reminds me so much of our former Ace Drew Smyly. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Stanek follow a similar path as Smyly and be starting in the Majors after 1 season in the Minors.

If 7 innings 1 run 10 K's is "hitting dat" then yes LSU did.

I agree with Stanek being an amazing pitcher. I watched him last weekend and he was a beast. Great stuff that is electric. Luckily we only had to score one to beat y'all
