Now, he didn't win the Heisman as an 18 y.o. Now did he?

You could argue that Ingram wasn't even the best player on his team.

McElroy was better than Peyton Manning too, just so you know.

Ingram also had the luxury of a competent passing game and Julio Jones to take pressure off of him, not to mention a pretty outstanding Oline.

In 1982 UGA had Herschel and that was about it. Everybody in the stadium knew he was getting the ball, but he still dominated anyway.

In 1980-82, the Bulldogs had Herschel Walker and Erk Russell defenses.

Walker absolutely had little help on offense (as much of a legend as Lindsay Scott was and is, his impact on the field in that day and age were limited).

Screen and misdirection inflated stats.

Bo and Hershel didnt play in that type of offense.

Everyone knows Mark is not allowed in the conversatoin...even Bama fans.

Bo had 2 awesome RB's playing at the same time. I guess his stats are lessened too.

Bo was in a wishbone, run heavy. You're right, Bo should have been much better running the ball.

Don't know enough to argue either way here, but how did the rest of the team compare to the team that Ingram had? Did Herschel and Bo have similar well rounded teams? Did they have one of the best defenses in the country? Did they have a quarterback comparable to McElroy? Etc. Etc.
