I think I am ready to give up on Dooley. What happened to high character guys and changing the culture?
I say we hire Petrino. If character and academics don't matter, at least win a few ballgames.

You do understand that UT has never won the Fulmer Cup while SEC teams have, right? Just like Ole Miss won the SEC....wait nevermind.

I honestly don't care about grades as long as they meet the minimum and make it on the field. The second they don't qualify and it affects performance is when I'll give Dooley heat for it. Afterall, 90% of them shouldn't be in college anyways, and it shows with their kinesiology majors.
I'm just happy they are not being arrested. These past two offseasons have been really nice in that regard.
Kiffin had his team GPA rising, but then we got hit with the armed robbery...nothing matters when you get hit with an armed robbery.

I think Dooley is doing a fair job at UT and should be given 3 more years.

My roommate is a Kinesiology major, and it's hard as frick so I can see why they're all failing if that's what they're majoring in.

This is true. As a PE major at Bama I had to take kinesiology and the same anatomy and physiology classes as pre-nursing and pre-med students. Not one thing easy about it.

From what I experienced it depends on the coach.
When Shula was at UA players only showed up half the time. When Saban came he immediately hired a bunch of staff to make sure they would attend class. One older guy who would stand with a clipboard taking attendance, and another younger guy who talk to the players about a teammate not showing up, and he'd make them call them in front of him.
It was night and day.

Not too relevant but heard from an administrator that Cam had in the 2.9 range when he was at Auburn. So suck it

I agree. To hell with this instant gratification what have you done for me lately attitude. Its poisonous. Give the man time, he is laying the foundation. He should get 6-8 years minimum.
