After multiple generations of supporting bama, there was not that many bandwaggon jumpers at AU. The problem has not been AU vs UA alum, but AU vs the redneck nation.

no, the problem is auburn having this us against the world/cause they all hate us cult attitude.

we don't hate you, we just find you really annoying.

The reason why AU fans hate most of the UA fans is because of the arrogance of the uneducated and redneck fans (some are alums). These people's lives have been so miserable over the years because society has looked down their nose at them. For years they looked for something to associate themselves with that could be considered successful, with that they had to be able to look down their nose at someone else. They only way they could feel superior to any element of society was through football, they felt their GEDs were greater than an AU degree. The alum have had to hear that AUs academics was far greater than UATs over the years, so again they had to revert back to football to show supremacy. They felt that anyone that challenges their only outlet for success has to be denigrated to the point that they all start believing their own shite. These people are your wifebeaters and racist, who still wish they could live in the 60's, except for 12 weekends a year.

I read this and I go ehhh, there are some fans that are like that. I then think about all the Auburn fans that I have known/have associated with. Only one went to AU. The others choose to be a fan because it was different than being like everyone in Tuscaloosa. One of them prides himself on throwing pennies into a fire every time he sees one. (All of this sound familiar?)

You talk about arrogance yet it wasn't too long ago when the whole AU fan base took pleasure in holding up fingers. And lets not forget the constant mentioning of AU Selective History 101. "In the past 22 years, 9 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 11 hours, 14 minutes, and 23 seconds we've put up more 3rd down conversions of 4 1/2 yards." So as for "challenging" our accomplishments you might want to open up an actual history book, and not one forwarded by David Housel, and published by Bobby Lowder. It's far from anything Alabama has accomplished. Now congrats on your 28-27 and your 2010 NT that you're more than likely going to bring up if you respond to this, but guess what? I don't care.

You talk about "wife beaters and racist" but that's a form of generalization and prejudice when you try to group everyone together. (Hopefully you understand the connection "racist" and prejudice.)

So to summarize, like someone already said we share a state. And to think that all the people you mention are not also a part of your fan base then you're just as ignorant as the racist.

How? A huge portion of the documentary was about a nutjob poisoning Auburn's trees. If anything I thought the Alabama fans were embarrassed by the documentary because it made them seem Aubsessed, which is also not the case.

Don't expect any straight answers from anyone, but I can say in full honesty that a football fan in the SEC has enough hate to go around, and that Alabama and Auburn fans will hate eachother soon enough if they spend too much time together.

ETA: I personally didn't really start to hate Alabama until they started wooping our arse in the past 4-5 years. Before then I hate Georgia exclusively just because I grew up in metro Atlanta.

But hating Alabama when I realized I should came naturally and swiftly.

AU picked up a good amount of necks 2002-2007, but they took off their gear in 2008, wore it briefly in 2010, then took it off again. Bama's neck fans wear their gear even when the team goes 4-9.

Notice that Irons made it a point to insinuate that Bama grads and the "sidewalk" Bama fans are one and the same.

No I did not. I was stating that there is an element of the alumni base that behaves like the sidewalk fans (ie the T-bagger).

How many times have you heard that from a bama fan. They treat it as an insult, but look at Alabama's place in education and you will not hear many AU fans try to dispute it.

You talk like bama fans are from another country. if you go to an auburn board and read some of the comments on there you will see that they are no better or worse than bama fans. So you auburn fans don't act like you smarter or better than they are because you aren't!!!.

If you don't have state pride, that's your problem.
