v.Since we're talking Germans, Jessica Dorell resigned yesterday. And I'm wondering. I read she got a $14,000 settlement and agreed not to profit from her relationship with Razorback sports. If they got her to agree to no lawsuit, no books, no interviews, etc.....wouldn't there be more money than this?
She got three months pay, I doubt she had the legal legs to hurdle the sovereign immuntity bar needed to sue the state owned University

Or this is definitely how they have made it appear. Could be a private party gave her the big $ settlement, and AR comes out of it without admitting any wrongdoing at all. I could have sworn that I read somewhere that even the $13,??? was from a private party and not the university.

I just can't imagine, given that she now has no source of income and a slim-to-none chance of resuming a career in college athletics, that she'd agree not to profit for $14,000. She could probably do an interview or two and get that much.

She will be able to parlay her 15 minutes of fame into a better paying job as a pharamaceutical rep her celebrity status will help her get past the gatekeepers and actually speak to the doctors
The gag order may have a time limitation allowing her to profit from the Petrino relationship in the near future

If the University of Arkansas acts as the scene rather than the topic of a tell all book, I doubt the school would file a breach of contract.

There is no sovereign immunity for Title VII claims. She must not have been represented by an attorney, although I am sure that she was contacted by numerous people who sought to represent her. She has been taken advantage of (again) by her employer, probably out of both loyalty to her alma mater and naivete on her part. She should never have agreed to any type of confidentiality or other limitation for such a paltry sum. That 90 days sounds like a standard severance agreement that would be offered to any departing employee.
