I heard from my neighbor that Jake Holland played lights out in the A-day game. Said his name was mentioned multiple times the whole day.

I watched half of it on replay and I couldn't tell much of anything. RBs looked mostly good. QBs threw the ball well, but held on to it way too long for the most part. Other than that, it was hard to tell who was playing well and who wasn't.

It is better than analyzing practice reports.

Also watched Clemson's spring game. They have a lot of speed at all the O skill positions but look weak along the Oline.

Hope that is true, that will be the key to victory vs Clemson

Well, it was obvious our defense was playing a helluva lot better than under the Leaky Roof. Swarmed the ball, brought pressure, made tackles, ect.

And we were able to limit the gains on short passes. +50 points to Gryffindor.

Everything starts up front. If we can get pressure on Boyd, Sammy is irrelevant.

This, and Bellemy. All they did was get the ball to them in open space and let those guys work.

IMO a big part of the game plan will be to not let Clemson have the ball. We had over a 7 minute drive Saturday. Very excite

On another note, I am really liking the way some of the players are talking, and taking leadership roles on the team.

This from Whitaker:

quote:

Whitaker on the younger DLs: "They can't just pat themselves on the back for the spring. They have to keep working."

quote:

Whitaker on the next three months: "This just shows who really wants it. Coach Yox should be kicking guys out of the weight room."

Seems to be shaping up to be the leader on our defense, no doubt.

I just wish Holland could pick things up a bit faster so he could start growing into that role as well.

Whitaker has sounded like a 10 year NFL vet ever since he stepped on campus. That guy has always impressed me with how he's interviewed/carried himself. He needs to start impressing on the field too.
