I liked some of the things I saw from the offensive execution. I think if we can move the ball and give the defense decent rest, we should be able to do some damage. In all not a bad spring.

Appreciate the info, unfortunately didn't get a chance to catch it today (did watch a streaming of it last year, and Brantley's 4-14 "performance").
That said, good to hear the QB's accomplished something.

I agree in the fact that this year's team probably won't be significantly better (still expecting 8W) but that's primarily based on the D being very good, and I wasn't expecting a whole lot from the offense.
I think another year (2013 or so), maybe by then, hopefully they'll get back to competing again.

I got 21-0 reasons to show that we're gonna improve this year.
With the exception of y'all (11-41) and bama (38-10), we were in all the games we played. And that was with 60-67 scholarship players. Oh, by the way, did you know that this was the 2nd time in oh, 31 years that y'all scored over 35 points against us?
The offense looks alot better this spring than last. Even though there wasn't much shown by way of plays (hey, it's a spring game), it looks as though we have a clue now. Btw, besides, running those stable of backs, what will lsu do?
I'll ask you: How long do you think Florida will be down for?
How long do I think UF will be down for? I think 2013 could be a season where they can compete in the East. Gonna take another solid recruiting class and another season of Muschamp learning how to be a head coach. It's got to be tough to be a first time HC in the SEC and he looked WOEFULLY unprepared in most games last year. The typical UF fan response is that Meyer left him a mess. Meyer may have slacked a bit towards the end of his tenure but that roster wasn't completely devoid of talent. To not be able to beat 1 winning team is a cause for concern. So I think 2013 will be the year for UF to compete again. If not, in 2014 you'll have a new coach. And it will be a high profile one who has actually had success in the past....which will suck for the rest of the SEC East.
And what does Bama beating LSU 21-0 have to do with Florida's downfall? Both Bama and LSU destroyed UF and LSU will do so again in 2012.

Everyone is thinking positive in April. I remember during the Shula years thinking Alabama would be better, every year. To no avail. You won't know til October how good your team really is. My advice for everyone that isn't LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, or South Carolina fans is to keep your expectations grounded.

Or the defense is shitty...
Uhhh no.
Brissett impressed me more, but he always has.
RB's all looked solid.
Still only 2 WR's that stood out in Dunbar/Debose.
OL looked solid.
LB play was good.
Safeties looked solid. (Elam didn't play, nor did Roberson)
Overall, you can never tell anything from a Spring game, but it's what it's.

no Brantley under center = immediate upgrade
same could be said about LSU w/o Jordan Jefferson

Do any of you guys watch many Boise games? I'm curious as to how much of Boise's offensive philosophy you will use.
They are by far and away my favorite offense to watch outside of Petrino's because of all the packages. formations and pre-snap motion that they use. It is just a great offense to watch because of how much the mix it up and keep the defense on its toes.
I'm curious to see if Pease will stick with this philosophy at Florida or try to do his own thing.

UF's O-Line actually is one of the most experienced in the SEC this year.
Experience at what? Getting stoned at the point of attack? Consistently getting whipped on pass protection. On 3rd and 2 (and every SEC game comes down to 3rd and 2), is UF's OLine any better at moving people of the line of scrimmage than it has been the last 2 years? Where's the upgrade?
This is the biggest problem I have with UF fans. They are always fascinated by "bright, shiny things" (fixated on the next Percy Harvin). UF damn sure better be worried about getting the next set of Pouncey brothers up front or it won't matter how many sub-4.4 guys you have on the outside.

I've posted this same theme several times with regard to our talent level left by Urban Meyer.
Trade me: our for yours, deal?
WR - don't think you would
RB - nope
QB - maybe but I doubt it
OL - nope
TE - doubtful
DL - nope
LB - maybe
DB - nope
K- maybe
P- nope
So out of all those positions there are 3 maybes and perhaps only 2.
Yes, Urban left us in such a good spot talent wise teams would trade theirs for ours.
He left us in a very bad spot with the roster itself and with the lack of numbers at each position.

Florida is definitely going to be better next season.
The offense is going to be better, maybe not much better but better, and the defense which was REALLY young last year is going to be stronger this year, especially against the run.
Also, and people forget this, UF had it's worst season turnover wise in like 40 years. If UF has a more statistically normal turnover stat a lot of those close losses from last year will be wins.
It's way to early to call, but 8-9 wins looks possible.

Don't even bother to post logic. UF is supposed to suck really badly this year. LSU will destroy us in Gainesville 61-10.

Story is hurt. Which is really disappointing because he really needed this Spring to develop.
