Fwiw, I've been told Long and others have resolved the issue and word will come Monday that Petrino will be retained, but will face a big fine and suspension, and he'll lose some money annually on his contract.

Smart move IMO. He should have at least 3/4 of his annual salary taken from him this year and serve a 2 game suspension.

I think that AR is making the right move here, from a competitive standpoint. AR isn't exactly recruiting the blue chip type kids, so it doesn't really matter. They will still get theirs.

Easily the best solution. Don't give him a slap on the wrist type fine and suspension, take a huge chunk of his salary this year and make him miss a few games at least but no need to force a resignation IMO

I think the recruiting part of this is way overblown. The overwhelming majority of this years recruits('13) have backed Petrino since the story broke.

Local Ark kids? Mo state line area kids? Or Texans that Ark desperately needs to survive and/or thrive?

All you high horse riding rantards who are cring about the sacred practice of marriage need to wake the frick up. If it was so sacred there wouldn't be a 52% divorce rate. As for the act of adultery undressing a girl with your eyes is no different than BP giving her the Bacon Bits. Don't worry though you are not alone. Your wife has wondered about other men's junk too. Btw, as for an institution of higher learning, let be the first one to say BULL SHITE. What do you learn besides how to read a book that has been over priced due to a monopoly? To drink? If they had integrity they would allow players to choose their degree instead of pushing them into easy degrees like sociology, community services, etc. As long as the NCAA exists and players are extorted by schools with the BS of an overpriced and increasing supposedly free worthless degree, due to an oversaturated market while schools rake in millions. There is no integrity. BP is no different than a politico who hires an intern and fricks them on the side.

There are so many threads on here, I can't remember where I posted it yesterday, but I was told something similar.

Over 1mil of his salary taken. Contract re-done. The word "may" is replaced with the word "will" in front of the moral conduct portion of contract.

Jessica is offered a same type paying job outside of the athletic department.

He should be fired if he lied. When you put people like women, coaches and politicians on higher levels of standards than yourselves you are an idiot and doomed to fail. STOP DOING IT. SMDH.

No doubt. And he needs to be kept on a very short leash (as some of the guys on ESPN made reference to) with a salary cut and strict vigilance. If he doesn't like it, then tough shite. He abused our respect and trust re: his privacy.

I Kige this. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If any other incriminating evidence comes forth re: Petrino over the next few days, I don't think he stands a chance, and shouldn't. As it is, he's hanging by a thread, at best.

If Petrino was an average coach, he would be unemployed by now. Happens all the time in the corporate world. Execs turn their heads when top sales people frick up b/c getting rid of them would be a loss to the company.

FreedomCountry posted an update on RT, he's been 100% spot on with his info throughout this deal.

Got a little background today. I am less worried about the hring of the girl. From what i hear they did not break any hiring rules. Multiple people applied for an interviewed for the job. And importantly this was not all Petrino's hire; many hands were in the hiring process including Jeff Long. They can make a case she was qualified without trouble. That's my understanding of what the investigation will show. If so, he's safe.

Well, that's good news, if true. Hopefully nothing else negative feeds into this shitstorm from hell. Otherwise, I don't think BP will have much of a chance to redeem himself, as our coach anyway.

From another forum:

"When you are an offensive genius, you get a job in the NFL. When you get a job in the NFL, you lose games. When you lose games, you take a job at Arkansas. When you live in Arkansas, you get bored. When you get bored, you go looking for strange. When you go looking for strange, you find strange. When you find strange, you take it for a ride on your motorcycle. When you take strange for a ride on your motorcycle, she reaches around and grabs your junk. When she grabs your junk, you wreck your motorcycle. When you wreck your motorcycle, you end up at a press conference in a neck brace. Don't end up at a press conference in a neck brace...switch from cable and upgrade to DirecTV."

Joking aside, I could not care less about his personal life. He was more of an embarrassment to Arkansas with his behavior on the field.

Yep. Consequences in this respect (negative or positive), in the world of business, are usually contingent upon the money aspect, in one regard or another.

While I agree with you, we all know that's not going to happen. The girl will be lose her job and Petrino will be fined and maybe a month-long suspension but that's about it. Petrino's wife will issue a statement standing by her man, mistakes and all, until the dust settles on all of this and then she and her attorney will take him to the cleaners. What we won't know is what Petrino pays the girl to keep quiet.
