If this had been a 20 year old kid, I might feel some sympathy. But by one's 30s, one should have a better handle on how much alcohol is enough, etc.
I don't want him dead, or beat up or even tea bagged, but I am glad he lost his job and is facing charges.

Sometimes age doesn't equal maturity. I have personal experience. Someone close to me (who wasn't a 20 year old) got into stupid drug related shite and could have gone to jail over it. He has three kids. Luckily that person has chosen the correct path.
