Why did they become such a crappy team so fast? With all the talent that is in the state of Florida how could they slip so far so fast? They should be up there with LSU, Alabama, and Auburn as being football powers in the SEC year in year out.

UF's recruiting classes got a lot of the benefit of the doubt due to Meyer and UF's name, happens a lot at named programs. Also several of the top recruits didn't pan our or left the program, also Muschamp had to set the tone with discipline as meyer decided to take the year off as a coach.

Recruiting is an inexact science...you get a few too many misses and all of a sudden your team is a mess.
I am convinced urban Meyer saw the way his team was headed and didn't want to spend 3 yrs rebuilding so he bailed...

Transfers, QB's who aren't QB's, that includes Brantley, bad WR recruiting, soft Oline and Dline(Muschamp is fixing these for sure), no big backs, turrible coaching and coaching changes. Plus Meyer rarely ever got to the 85 limit. Unlike Ole Miss, LSU and Bama who were having mini camps. At least Bama and LSU won something, all Ole Miss got was Houston Nutt and a mixtape. Muschamp has UF on the rebound. Right now he's taking one for the team. Instead of the hot broad he's stuck with this:

and this:
