Turning point of the game

The fumble return for a Touchdown.
Stay with me now.
Ark offense puts together a drive for a TD on the first play of the 2nd Quarter. At that time Ark. looked like their offense was beginning to find its rhythm.
LSU gets the ball and starts driving until Arkansas forces the fumble and returns it back for a TD. LSU then gets the ball and pounds its way down the field again.
What we thought was a great play for Arkansas allowed LSU to keep Ark. offense on the sidelines for around 9 straight minutes and I'm guessing around 20 something plays.
Ya'll beat our defense up and we lost any type of rhythm we had found on offense.
It was a helluva job by your O-line and your offense to keep punching.
Hats off to your team for keeping its composure after going down 14 points. Ya'll just kept punching and put our defense on skates.

I'll go with the facemask when we're up 14 and they are about to be in a 3rd and long again. That led to the first TD. If we stop them there and get the ball back 14-0, who knows

Defense had a couple chances to get off the field but just couldn't do it. And it killed us.

Interesting analysis. Definitely a degree of validity as your offense possibly got out of rhythm while waiting for their next series. I would also add the emotional high/low they experienced when they thought they would win in a rout when they went up by 14. Probably took a little steam out of their engine.

Turning point of the game was your punter pinning LSU inside the 10 yard line twice in the 1st quarter. LSU refuses to throw the ball when backed up like that. So that forced two quick punts. The first time LSU got any breathing room was the 3rd drive. LSU never punted again. Without your punter, LSU wins 52-17.

The main difference was that Arkansas couldn't stop the inside running game. When a team runs for close to 300 on you it's going to be hard to win because they are going to wear out your defense. Just to boot Kenny Hilliard is a freshman.

Come on man, take away that penalty and LSU still wins that game.

Arkansas moved the ball on their next drive. Then the fumble happened, which was the turning point IMO.

Several key plays that mattered but the nail in the coffin that lit up the LSU players was the TM7 93 yard punt return.

LSU played unbelievably in the 2nd quarter. Showed the heart of a champion. These guys disrespecting Arkansas is uncalled for. They are still a very good team, honey badger just made some great plays an their interior line was getting pushed back

I'm not saying that, Im saying if you punt again, we've got all the momentum at that point, we could have certainly went down and scored again and the game might have been different.
For us to beat you we needed a sizable lead that didn't allow you to run it 50 times. That was in the works if we stop you there IMO

Yeah that was a tough break. So unlucky.
