The last 7 years who ever had the most rushing yards has one the ball game. I'd say that's a good reason why people want stats.

But, this could be because the winner is running to keep the clock moving and to avoid turnovers. The losing team had to abandon the run to stop the clock and to take the high risk high reward attempt.


So, sometimes it is not the "rushing" itself that tells the tale.

I see your point. But I really don't understand why people keep saying that LSU's Offense is so bad because they are 78th in the country in total yardage. Those same people don't take into consideration that LSU usually wins the field position battle for starting LOS each game. Of course you're not going to have as many yards when you start your possessions around the 30-35 each time.
