What is so hard to figure out about CBS getting the first pick of games in the SEC each week? I feel like this gets talked about every week. Nothing has changed, and it sure as hell isn't rocket science. I would rather it be at night too but it isn't going to change anything.

CBS usually does their primetime game early in October, especially lately.

2011 - October 1st
2010 - October 2nd
2009 - October 10th
2008 - October 11th

The division these 2 teams are in (SEC West) went like 16-2 last year against the SEC East yet the SEC East team coming off its worst season in a few years gets the featured CBS primetime game instead of a #1 vs. #2 matchup. It makes absolutely no sense at all.

CBS really did screw the pooch by using their primetime game on UA/UF.

I can't believe that people still don't understand how the selection process works.

Is it just me or is anyone else astounded that a thread about game times has managed to turn into a flame war?

That will suck. I would much more prefer LSU/Bama game to be at night. It should be a slobberknocker again this year.

Oh well,...

So now playing a game at night is a tradition?

They believed Finebaum when he said we would have 3 losses by now, you know he is the most powerful man in football...

I don't understand the emphatic love of night games, especially games that don't start until 7 or 8.

The 2:30 game allows you to whatever you want in terms of tailgating, and then allows you to do whatever you'd like after the game.

The perfect start time, to me, would be 4 or 5 because that would allow you to get something done during the day and keep the game from ending after 11.

For those that love night games, what is it about night games that make it so awesome to you?

amazing how some of you don't understand how CBS works in terms of picking the games...they have been using the same process forever.

WOW you are stupid

Herbstreit & Mussberger work for ABC

The SEC has contracts with CBS and ESPN. There is an absoulte ZERO chance of this game being broadcast on ABC... unless Alabama moves to the ACC next week

There has NEVER been an SEC matchup on ACC with Herbstreit & Muffdiver... EVER.

Even if this is a night game, it will be on CBS. So unless Herby & Muff get loaned out to CBS, there is a ZERO chance they will be doing this game

Question: Is this your first season watching SEC Football?

"something done"?

You mean, like errands or some shite?

It would never even occur to me to even consider such a thing. We're out there at 7 or 7:30am and I feel cheated if the game starts at 2:30

I understand the CBS contract completely. It just seems like they reserve Florida as their primetime game every year. Granted Florida's been great in recent years but they seem to have no flexibility in this part of the contract. How the frick did they not see the potential of the Alabama/LSU game this year?

no, obviously you dont

otherwise you'd realize how dumb you sound saying Herby & Muffdiver will broadcast the game over on ABC
