Offensive Line Grading

How are offensive linemen graded? When I read that an OL graded at 90% I know that's good, but I have no idea what it actually means. Is it just the percentage that the OL "wins" vs their block assignment?
edit: to make this SEC relevant, I saw that two of our OL commits graded at 89% with no sacks and 55/98 knockdowns respectively, and I just wanted to understand what that really meant. The sacks/knockdowns stats are obvious but I don't get the %

It's pretty simple: did the OL succeed in his job on a play? If yes, that's a check. If not, that's a minus. Take all plays during the course of the game and calculate the % checks vs. all plays. That's your %.

Well at Alabama when we lose I grade them out with an F.
If we win I give them a C.
If we win I give them a C.

So the coaches just watch the film and evaluate the linemen on each play? That makes sense. Thanks

yep
I remember back in high school treating my Grade like my damn credit score. Lots of pleading during film session. 'COME ON COACH!'

I think it is a little more complex than what B Barksdale said - and each o line coach has his own individual method of grading out his own players - but that is the general idea. Did the lineman make his assigned block? Did he adjust to the blitz on a certain play? If it is a running play was he where he was supposed to be and did he move his assigned target in the direction he was supposed to? If it is a passing play did he totally shut the target down or did he only barely keep his qb from getting sacked.

There aren't many direct stats but obviously sacks allowed is one.
