If they win the SECW and the SEC, but have to vacate all their wins due to Newton being declared ineligible, are the runners up given the championship titles? I know that losses to Auburn do not become wins, but I wasn't sure how championship titles are handled.

If no new champions are declared, that would mean there would be no SECW or SEC champion for 2010, which strikes me as being weird.

This is what scares me. First I hope AU is innocent. But if guilty what happens if...

UF loses to AU in the SECCG???

If the win is just vacated there is no winner right????

If Arkansas wins out then we'd be 6-1 in SEC play with Auburn vacating its wins... Alabama has lost to USC and LSU, so they'd be 6-2 whether they win or lose to Auburn. LSU would be 6-1.

It may not matter if no new SECW is declared, but if there was, what would happen in this case? Arkansas and LSU technically have the better records by % wins, but the same number of wins as Alabama. Alabama beat Arkansas, Arkansas beat LSU, and LSU beat Alabama.

If they don't declare a new champ, this scenario is probably a good example of why.

If Auburn vacates their wins then they will be 0-8 in the SEC. The teams they beat will still have the same record. If this happens before the SECCG, then the next best West team will take Auburns place. So if LSU wins out we become West Champs and play in the SECCG, potentionally the NC also.

correct. you see, it can't be determined that you would have won the game if cam was not in the lineup. know what i mean? same thing with the 04 championship (bcs)

Vandy is ultimately given the SEC title this year since they are the only team that is not paying players.

If a SEC title was vacated, I think the SEC should get together, vote, and award the title to Vandy.... or Ole Miss.

It would be nice to recognize a program that won't ever win a SECCG on their own.

Hey, Gator, just go back to 1984.

UF won the SEC with a 5-0-1 SEC record. LSU was second with a 4-1-1 record. The tie came AT UF, and LSU's lone loss came against - you guessed it, John Bond. UF was declared ineligible because of cheating before the season ended and didn't get a bowl invite. The Sugar picked LSU as the #2 SEC team.

LSU had the second best record, tied the 'champions' at their place, went to the Sugar Bowl, but yet STILL doesn't get credit for that championship.

Damn you gators, if Auburn vacates the SECC after beating UF in Atlanta, I hope you get what you deserve - nothing.

Sorry, should have just said there are no alleged allegations against Vandy.

Since we want to go down this road, should all wins by Bama, LSU, UT, Tenn, MSU, and Ole Miss be vacated this year?

I can name players on all those teams that there have been similar allegations and rumors concerning payoffs right now.

1984 Gators - Charlie Pell. One hell of a team, but basically a semi pro team with a huge payroll for the time.

I pretty sure UGA is not paying players- Which could explain their record

If you have that much inside information you may expect the FBI and SEC to knock on your door real soon

where do these people come from?

Let me guess BHP, you are unaware of the claims that PP7 was bought and paid for by LSU? I can tell you, Miami is pretty damn convinced it happened. Just be glad Miami did not pull an Urban Meyer on LSU.

That should take about 3 years. There is a long line in front of me that seems to know more right here on the SEC Rant.

Besides, I am just talking rumors and allegations. You know, the Cam talking points?

That type of thing.

Wrong. If Auburn vacates their wins, they'll be 0-0 assuming they don't lose a single game in the conference. The NCAA doesn't reverse results anymore. They just act like the wins never happened. Just look at USC and Alabama's win-loss record when they had to vacate wins. You see records of 0-1, 2-6, 0-6 not 0-12 or 2-10.

Weird, but true. As noted above, see 1984. No SEC champion for that year after the title was vacated. That's why I would hope that if there is proof that Cam is ineligible at Auburn, matters could be resolved before the SECCG is played.
