Les Miles won his BCS Championship in his 3rd season at LSU. Nick Saban won his BCS Championship in his 3rd season at Alabama.
Both had letdown seasons the next season. Les Miles was accused of not being able to win without Nick Saban's players. Can the same be said about Nick Saban not being able to win without Mike Shula's players?
I know it is a silly question, but I will never understand what that question applied to Miles but never Meyer or Saban.

Saban had a majority of his guys starting when they won the title last year, Miles didn't in 2007

I'm listening to 94.5 right now and they were talking about the senior leadership Alabama loss and that's why they are not as good. So let me get this right. Les Miles was winning because he had Saban's players but know Alabama is losing because of lack of seniors aka (Mike Shula's playes)????

No, it was his third season. They got hammered by Utah in the Sugar Bowl in his second season.

Nick won with Shula's players, Les won with Nick's and Urban won with Zook's. That why you hire new HCs: to win championships with the fired coach's players.

Please stop.
If you are trying to imply that NS can't recruit and coach up players and maintain a dominant program...then you are not bright.
NS went to a struggling Alabama and implemented his system. They won the SEC W his 2nd year, went on an amazing regular season W streak, won the SEC and NC game in the 3rd, and has only lost 2 games so far in his fourth. He's a great coach.
Les Miles is a good coach and can be a great coach at times.
