Auburn Dean of Science and Math killed

With all the craziness surrounding the Newton investigation, a bit of tragic news to bring us all back to earth and put things in perspective.

A vehicle struck two female pedestrians at the intersection of South College Street and South Donahue Drive in Auburn Friday morning, killing the dean of Auburn University’s College of Science and Mathematics and seriously injuring the second pedestrian.
Auburn police responded to the location at approximately 5:45 a.m., where the first of the two pedestrians, identified as Marie W. Wooten, 53, dean of AU’s College of Science and Mathematics, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lee County Deputy Coroner Charlotte Patterson.

very sad, Dean Wooten was a great lady and her husband also teaches at AU. Unbelievable that lsu fans are making jokes about her death.

Prayers sent. This is awful to hear. You know she was a good person and somebody just lost a mother or a sister or daughter, ect.. Sad news.

I mourn for her loss and am ashamed any LSU fan would type anything so foolish. Way to go, make fun of a University that loses someone. Clearly tragic and thought and prayers sent!

Don't generalize about LSU fans----every fan base has its scum.
The great majority of LSU fans, myself included, are deeply saddened by this tragic turn of events.

Tragic. I hope for the driver's sake they weren't doing something stupid like speeding, texting while driving, talking on the cell phone, or the worst scenario of all, driving under the influence. Regardless, this will forever change the lives of two families.
