Dye and Stallings owned Finebaum yesterday

For any of you who missed it (which I am sure most did) Finebaum said last week that Stallings had been run out of Tuscaloosa by angry fans and administrators. Word of this comment got back to Stallings and he called him out on his weekly time slot yesterday afternoon. Pat Dye was apparently on the side of Stallings and he threatened to give up his time slot to Mike Leach. It got really awkward and Finebaum had to take a break.

That was all precipitated by Finebaum's conversation with Mike Leach. Leach said Dye and Stallings were fired for NCAA violations, and Finebaum said he knew for a fact the Stallings was asked to resign.
Stallings heard about it all while in Tuscaloosa this weekend, and was PISSED. He flat called Finebaum out for it too. He said that was a total fabrication, and that until he announced it, nobody in Alabama knew he was resigning except his wife.
Finebaum hemmed and hawed and said he had sources that said he was asked to leave, but Stallings wasn't going to let him off the hook. He told Finebaum that he didn't have any sources to back him up, because what he was saying was not true.
It was kind of ugly.
I tell you what, I'll take Stallings word on ANYTHING over Finebaum's.

So what's the rational bama fan's view on Finebaum?
My personal belief is that he really doesn't give a shite about anything, except stirring pots.

He keeps the great unwashed masses irritated, so that they will call his show and sound ignorant, thereby providing entertainment to those who are rational enough not to call, but stupid enough to listen.

Should be any college FB fans prsonal belief, BTW, about PF's show. Except that he has really good guests (not including the not always-so-comical Tammy's, Shanes's, Charles from reeltowns, etc..)

I was laughing my arse off. It was very tense and Finebaum was back peddling big time. Dye asked Paul to call the sponsor to see if they had the balls to pay for Leach to be on the show, and if they did that Leach could have his spot. The only time I listen to Finebaum is at 5:30 on Mondays. It is can't miss radio. BTW, Dye said that this could be the best Bama team that he has ever seen.

The best part about not listening to finebaum is not having to hear this drivel. The worst part about you listening to finebaum, is i can't completely escape it.

Finebaum is a total pot stirrer. He's all Bama now because we're winning. That was not the case with Shula or Franchione.Fran was afraid to come on his show. He's all about the ratings.Evedently letting the whole Country listen to the inbreds that call his show is good for ratings. BangHead!!

Succinct.

Stallings left for two reasons. First, as with any coach at Alabama boosters are a constant irritant that must be dealt with. Secondly, as his wife so eloquently put it, "it was time to come home to Texas."

Mike ah is fricking hilarious. Combined, Stallings nad Dye have been a part (as players, assistants, or head coaches) of 22 top 10 teams (13 top 5), 16 conference chmpions, 5 national championships, and 4 undefeated teams. They accomplished this at total of 5 different programs. Leach has never played for or coached for, in any capacity, a team that has either won a championship or finished in the top 10 at the 1-a level. What an arse clown.

I think Stallings was still mad his room wasn't perfect after the Bamers won. Oh, and by the way, you're banned for life for mentioning Finebaum.

I had the thought this morning that Stallings was grumpy and pissed because he was informed at the Bama game of Finebaum and Leach's discussion about him getting fired. He said as much himself when talking to Finebaum. Hell, he was still fiery and pissed about it on Monday, two days later...

Yep, him and Dye are hilarious, grumpy and grumpier. I do understand why Mean Gene "the dancing machine" was so upset. Finebaum is a major troll, Babes has always hated him with a purple passion.

While I'm sure both of those are true, the AD at the time was the main reason for CGS leaving. As the story goes, the AD was meddling in the football side of things and CGS had enough. They got into it (verbally) in the locker room after the MSU game and CGS put the AD in his place. But the AD stayed on, so CGS decided it was his time to retire.

The university president didnt help much either. In their defense Stallings didnt help his case by throwing the NCAA out of his office. Or by letting Antnio Langham play after he knew he had been in contact with an agent. Stallings is a good man but he was guilty of the "I'm the most powerful man in Alabama" complex.

and pulled the ultimate practical joke on 'em by hand-picking Mike DuBose as his successor!
