LSU had one more national championships in the '00's than Bama.
LSU went 7-3 vs. Bama in the 00's.
LSU has more players currently on NFL rosters than Bama
LSU is consistently competitive in baseball AND football. Bama isn't.
LSU has better colors and a much better mascot than Bama
Bama just pulled themselves from obscurity and have forgotten about the 10 years of irrelevance beforehand.

Outside of that top line, you could replace LSU with Auburn and the thread would still be true.
