Outstanding post. Those who think football fans need to be wearing slacks and polos need to have their man card pulled.

I do not wear jerseys and haven't since I graduated High School.

Wearing a jersey is "idolizing" the player whose jersey is worn. When a 40 year old man wears the jersey of a 19 year old kid he is almost worshiping that kid, and that is sad.

There are certain exceptions.

A guy can wear the jersey of his son or favorite nephew, I wouldn't but I can see a father doing that.

Little boys can wear jerseys.

I guess women can wear the pink jerseys, but my wife would never wear a jersey either.

Don't get me wrong, I am not wearing a tie to a game either. That is certainly too pretentious.

i disagree, the number is in support of that certain player... If you wanna support the school then you should wear a t-shirt,jacket,hat etc.......

When I was a kid I would always wear my Casey Clausen jersey to every Vol game. For Titans games, I have been wearing jerseys for 10 years now to EVERY GAME. Everyone wears jerseys to Titans games.

My wardrobe for Tennesse games all depends on the stature of the game. For example, I always wear my NIKE, mesh coaching polo for the Florida, Georgia or Bama games. But for the paperview games I just wear an orange T-Shirt.

At 18 I guess it is acceptable if you "looked up" to some of the Tennessee players. Probably not smart but I could give you a pass. When you are 28, it would be pathetic.

It is good to see that you do not wear UT jerseys now, I hope that doesn't change for your sake.

So what makes you more of a douche?

1. An adult wearing a jersey to a game.
2. An adult who posts on an internet message board about what other adults are wearing to games.

I'll go with number 2. Wear it if you got it. I'd rather that over people not even wearing school colors

This may be some of the stupidest shite i have ever read on the rant. So let me get this straight, a person wears a jersey strictly to "idolize" a player, but its okay to "idolize" your son, or nephew by wearing his jersey? Doesnt make sense dude. I wear a jersey to show support for my team, not to idolize anyone. Jesus people, its a fricking article of clothing for God's sake. Quit being pretentious figs and lighten up.

Where are these people (other than frat houses)?

If you're in a loveless marriage and you have a moustache and a beer gut, you should wear a polo. If you want to look like a skinny little pussy or obese (depending on your body type), you should wear a jersey. If you want to not look like a pathetic sack of shite who has a savings account for his Fatheads, wear a t-shirt, baseball cap, cheap sunglasses, jeans/shorts, and the shoes you do yardwork in.

I'm 28. I don't wear a jersey to a game because I'm a grownup.

In response to the "Why in the hell do you care what another grown man wears?" posts, frick your weak faux arguments. If I see a guy with a mullet, I will make him the subject of fun. I might tell my friend that the guy with a mullet looks like a dumb arse. So you're gonna tell me "Why in the hell do you care what another man has for a hair-do?" See how stupid that sounds?

You people look like dumb asses, so you're being made fun of. It's the natural order of things.

I agree. That's what they make the jerseys for. To wear them!

"I wear a jersey to show support for my team, not to idolize anyone."

Exactly. It's about the team not to "idolize a player".

I don't know, it looks like you are the one with a crush on a 20 year old guy.
