While they weren’t in the same class, his time at Baton Rouge High overlapped with Jim Taylor, who himself was a good HS basketball player.

I’m 77&7/12 yo. I saw him on one of our 3 channels several times. Especially playing Russell/ Cousy in the playoffs. He would have scored more, but he played with Cliff Hagen, a big star from Kentucky, who used to shoot a lot. This led to Pettit’s rebounds. Lol
