Did he not repeat several times that he thought Landry's actions were motivated by trying to make points on Fox News? Why the focus on Fox News? Too conservative for his taste? Did he not ask if Landry had a problem with prayer, and try to blame his actions on that?

Even if your perceptions on all of this were correct, this still has nothing to do with being woke.

Because that's the only network that Landry appeared on and tried to make a big stink about the basketball team? Did he go on any other network? He can't name the media outlet that Landry went to in order to trash LSU?

Landry is a conservative. Fox News leans right. It's "woke" to point out that he's trying to pander to other conservatives on Fox News?

I read that as sarcasm. Of course, the conservative governor of Louisiana does not have a problem with prayer, and nobody would seriously try to make that point. I'm failing to see what is "woke" about questioning if the governor does not like the school praying, even if he wasn't being sarcastic. So, defense of prayer is now "woke"?

Yeah I think you completely whiffed on the point there.

It’s not about Fox News specifically. It’s about Landry trying to stir up shite for national media exposure. Fox News just happens to be the network of choice in this case because he’s a republican. It could have just as easily been CNN or MSNBC if he were a democrat. It doesn’t change the point.

It’s being said tongue-in-cheek to emphasize the fact that Mulkey isn’t trying to make political statements in support of leftist causes.

If you interpreted that as seriously implying that Landry’s criticism was actually rooted in some kind of “problem with prayer,” you’ve got some reading comprehension issues.
