If true, 9-3 is likely your ceiling.

And there better not be any complaining from those who adamantly argued breaking the bank for these players wasn't worth it.

How can you think players that were not even average DT's for their former teams are all of a sudden going to step into the SEC and be that much of a difference maker?

I found it odd that there were posters saying the following, after Kelly said we need DT:

quote:

This fanbase is a bunch of pussies
quote:

Why are you melting?

It was vitriolic from the start and I’m curious as to why.

Les Miles had a year like this in which all of his DT’s returning sucked. The starters turned out to be a returning sophomore and a true freshman. The experienced DTs we returned were backups. And they ended up doing okay. The starters were Christian LaCouture and Davin Godchaux. Frank Heron and Greg Gilmore were the only two decent backups.

We sucked that year - it was the year we lost to Wisconsin, and it got Les fired. The defense wasn’t great - they only gave up 153 yards per game on the ground - and the offense really sucked.

The DTs held their own that year.

How about the ones that said our depth there is fine there was a several page thread last week where people were trying to justify our depth because we have a bunch of names on the roster at DT. Some of them are just 275 lbs (allegedly) freshman who played the edge in HS
