What’s the OB recommended best value charcoal grill?

The Weber kettle is an icon for a reason. Easy to use, cheap and makes great food.

I couldn't have said it better myself. This grill has infinite accessories you can add to it as well.

That grill is a machine and can cook anything. Not to mention, it's beyond easy to get accessories or replacement parts, although I've never had to replace anything.

Absolutely.
If you are not going to do a brisket, then anything else is easily done on a Weber Kettle. Brisket would be a giant PITA, but otherwise, if you like flexibility and aren't a fan of gas, the Kettle is the answer.
I have a small PitBoss, but never use it for anything other than smoking butts, briskets, and larger quantities of ribs/chicken 1/4s.
If I am just cooking for me and the wife, I prefer the Kettle for smoking or grilling.

Weber kettle

Bought a new one two weeks ago. I grill a lot and like to use charcoal but my old kettle was I think around 12 years old and was being held together with wire. I’m actually surprised that it never collapsed when I was brushing the grill. Can’t go wrong with a Weber kettle
