Thanks for completing missing the whole point of this thread.
The guys in the portal were decent players, not great.
So lmk if you want to pay a kid $700,000+ to cut the rushing yards from 150 to 130

You are the one missing the "point". I'll spell it out for you. In year 3 of a rebuild you should never be in a situation to have to overpay at any position.

That last part is so important. Don't reset the market for guys that aren't the cream of the crop.
Also, people need to have a little bit of faith in Baker, Peoples and Bo - not saying they're going to spin shite into gold, but if you look at Sweat and Murphy from 2022 to 2023, they progressed immensely.
Same for Robinson and Josh Landry at Mizzou - Baker and Peoples helped those guys turn a big time corner.
So sure, we're still thin there but expect a lot of improvement from what we have between now and the Southern Cal game, and more improvement as the season goes along.
