I view Desantis helping Trump as pretty meaningless. He doesn’t have to “kiss the ring” and frankly it wouldn’t help him in any significant way. He’s helping out of party loyalty, and Desantis has always said he would and has lived up to that.

Interesting. You have posted repeatedly since DeSantis dropped out that he was running a shadow campaign to undermine Trump.

Labeling Desantis as GOPe was probably the most brilliant political move ever. There will be books written about it.

Hardly. It was a lie that was echoed repeatedly by Trump’s influencers and Trump supporters ate it up and never questioned whether or not it was true. It is more an indictment of Trump’s supporters critical thinking skills than some genius political strategy. The mental gymnastics of Trump supporters loving Ron to hating Ron has been interesting AF to watch.yes there might be books written about that phenomenon one day.

Now, I personally think Desantis made that choice logically. And, I think he dislikes the America First movement. And, to his credit, he’s honest enough to admit who he is. For that reason, I don’t have much hope to get Desantis on board.

Name a single policy that RD supports that isn’t in alignment with these so-called American First policies? Border? Nope. Tax cuts and deregulation? Nope. The tranny, DEI, culture wars? Hell no, he is further to the right than Trump in this. Foreign affairs? Nope. Trade? Possibly, but he supports tariffs on China, but not tarriffs on everyone as Trump does. Weaponization of the DOJ? Nope, and he would be the most effective person to really fix this.

I make no bones about DeSantis’s campaign. It was bad. I have no idea why he went to other states with a slogan of “make Iowa Florida.” Voters don’t want to hear that. Yet, I really believe that has more to do with his personality than anything else. He comes across as stiff, and wonky. He doesn’t seem to have the charisma that attracts and engages voters.

But as a politician, there is no one close in accomplishment. For the life of me I do not understand how that doesn’t resonate with people who claim to want real change.
