Going to try to make this festival this year.

Can anyone give me any info about traffic and other do's and don'ts?

We'll be leaving Hammond around 9am.

I've never been to this food festival, but I've never seen a food festival that didn't have some combination of shitty parking, terrible prices, extremely long lines, and food shortages.

Yeah, don’t go to the crawfish festival.

But since you seem determined.

Don’t keep your cash in your actual wallet.

Don’t wear any good watches or jewelry.

Don’t park somewhere you’re stuck or blocked in

That should just about cover it.

I'm old enough to remember with the CF was downtown and not in Parc Hardy. Lots of minorities now come in from Houston in droves and isolated to one little park area. Keep your head on a swivel baw.

Parking is available for $5.

Clear Bags only. You can't bring in food, drinks, water, etc.

It's the kind of deal where you have to pay admission to get through the gate. It's not like Festival International or Festival Acadien in Lafayette that are like free range set ups (which are mych better in my opinion).

They put their seasoning on the crawfish, skip it.

I live in Breaux Bridge, like 2 miles from Parc Hardy. Traffic is horrendous once you past Doug Ashy. Parking is in a field and it's supposed to rain(and it's been raining) so there ya go. You will have idiots driving up and down Rees street like gas is back to $1.25/gallon. My wife and kids go on Wednesday to ride and I just drop them off and pick up. I only go on Sunday with the wife to look at the vendor booths.

I went to this ONE time in the early to mid 90s. Maybe it's different now but the price was outrageous for a little box of crawfish and when we tried to leave to get back to I 10 it was the biggest traffic cluster-frick I've ever seen in my life. It was like trying to leave LSU after a football game minus contra flow (that at least keeps things moving). I swore I would never go again and have not. Good luck.

Ex wife and I went when we were still married. Traffic is really bad. We were stopped waiting for the police to direct traffic and a cop from out of nowhere raps on my passenger truck window with a flashlight and tells my wife to put her seat belt on. She had it on but had long hair so you couldn't see it. She pulled back her hair to show him and he just turned and walked away.

It's not that bad. Stick to the day time. It gets dark early if you know what I mean. Stay on the band side. Food is good. It used to be alot worse back then. I find it boring but hey, go experience it. The crawfish are good.

I remember years ago they toyed around the idea of having a black crawfish festival and a separate white crawfish festival.

Shithole.

Go to Jazz Fest. Better food, music, and clientele.

Yes there is boiled crawfish.
