It's very easy to.steal with those things. I had an item that wouldn't scan and I got tired of waiting on the cashier so I just put in it my bag and paid for everything else. Walked out. Easy as pie...

I've left items that wouldn't scan, so that's at the very least a lost sale. I have also unintentionally walked out with items I forgot to scan. SEVERAL times, I have though of not scanning items and I'm usually honest, I can only imagine what dishinest people do.
