That makes sense. I know they were probably stressed trying to find fish but we practically had to ask to reel in some of the barracuda.

Venice is different, those dudes are a competitive and fiery bunch. The guides are used to taking city slickers and are trying to fill the box for reviews, I don't blame em, they gotta eat. Tuna trips are like what you describe until the guide trusts you, apparently they didn't think you could cut it. Don't blame them either.

We had a terrible experience with an inshore guide that we just about left on a rig in the marsh and drove his boat back. Finally told him to drive it back or we would.
