I am a veteran and a patriot, but I now have a good understanding of how corrupt our government is.

I can't in good conscience allow my children to die for these evil bastards so that they and their MIC buddies can get rich. The only scenario in which I will fight (and support them fighting) is if we get invaded.

There will never be another draft. They will be doing it like Ukraine and grabbing people off the street to fight DC's wars.

Just how would you go about not allowing your children to be drafted? Hide them in a cave? Ship them to another country? You can't use the I'm gay excuse anymore.

They will accept illegals to serve and get citizenship long before they institute a draft.

How can you stop them?

I would encourage my kids or grandkids to move to a better country.

The Vietnam War was a tough time for the USA. I have never looked down on draft dodgers from that era. I hold in highest esteem the military heroes who shipped off to Vietnam to do their duty. Of course, the military heroes are heroes. The draft dodgers are not. But I do not hold the draft dodgers in contempt. I respect their decision.

I would feel the same way about a 21st Century American draft dodger. Don't want to do your duty serving the MIC and greedy politicians by fighting in endless wars in which the USA has no intention of actually winning?

Don't care to do your duty by helping the USA spread Globo Homo Queer Culture world-wide?

I would respect your decision to dodge the draft.

Part of the reason the Founders created the 2nd Amendment was to hold a corrupt or tyrannical government accountable. Nobody on here is going to do this. Ever. That's why the corruption will continue.

Yes. Both ny grandfather and father were both drafted. If we need troops, we need troops and the draft is a part of that. If you don't like it, leave or don't have kids.

I voluntarily enlisted and did over 20.

If the main culprits are China and Russia then I'll allow it. We're not perfect but they are some really fricked up countries. I'd tie in India to aid with some pop control too

If they brought back the draft it would be mired in court cases for a long time. Guys would be suing for sexual discrimination and they would be right. No Congressman is gonna vote for drafting girls.

If the draft is ever reinstated there isn’t much you can do other than flee the country.

Here’s the thing. Most people who serve are doing so not out of “support” towards how things are but because they believe in the American ideal.

Even as messed up as things are, this is still the greatest country on the planet with the most potential. It’s not as great as it sounds once was, nor as great as it can be. It’s still better than anywhere else.

We the people need to take it back.

If you are talking about children (under 18) yes I would do whatever I could. If they are over 18 they are no longer considered children and I doubt I could stop them being drafted.

A better question would be would people be willing to have women drafted as well? Maybe not into combat roles but like in WW2 there were a lot of jobs that women did and that freed up a man to fight.

You think the govt wasn’t corrupt when you were in? It’s usually not in our best interest.
