I spent a lot of time in Felsenthal and in the Ouachita/Saline river bottoms in general. Gods country really.

Same, grew up hunting, fishing, and generally doing just about anything water related on the Ouachita River between Monroe and Sterlington. As I got older, expanded my horizons to Upper Ouachita and then to Felsenthal. Ended up marrying someone whose family is all over Morehouse Parish and Ashley County, AR. In fact my MIL was mayor of Parkdale for years so that’s my answer.

A fun facts:
Barry Switzer is from the Ouachita River bottoms outside Crossett/Cooter. His daddy was a well known bootlegger.
Michael Jackson's daddy was from Fountain Hill.
