Good lord. He was a kid. Maybe a naive and poorly educated kid seduced by the hype of fame, glory and riches promised by the gambling world and society in general. Of the LSU bets the only one disclosed appears to be he bet on himself and lost. What he did was dumb. Any surprises here? Let me tell you this is going on everywhere in college and pro sports because my God it’s everywhere and in your face daily. The promise of great riches through gambling ensnares grown mature adults everyday. All of this is so predictable when you step back and look at what’s glorified today. Now I don’t condone what Boutte did but don’t fool yourself and think this is an isolated instance. He got caught. Most don’t until they are in the ditch.
