My trip to see LSU play Wisconsin in Madison when I was a student at LSU (early 1970s) was epic. I have never, in any venue before or since, seen such fan animosity toward our team and fans as that day in Madison. When our team ran onto the field, they were pelted with booze bottles, beer cans, cold drinks, fruit, etc. It was pretty embarrassing for them.

The walk of shame out of the stadium through all the Wisconsin fans can’t be erased from memory.
