Outside of…you know…compiling the actual Bible itself. The Bible was first compiled in 382 at the Council of Rome. The biblical canon was later reaffirmed by two councils: Hippo, in 393, and Carthage, 397. It was then again reaffirmed at the Council of Florence in 1442. The Council of Trent definitively affirmed the canon in 1546, after the Reformation heretics.

The 1610 King James version, on which most of the current Protestant translations are based, was a complete new translation from the original Greek and Hebrew. It left out several books that are included in the Catholic Bible.

Like I said, Lutheran, Anglican, sure. Direct Catholics descendants. The other, more Evangelical sects pointedly disagree with the RCC on many if not most of its doctrine and were founded as complete rejections of Catholicism.
