From someone who works in the industry, to train a couple of people at a time to do the processes would take a couple of weeks to be proficient enough to keep up with the work at whatever the line speed is.
To do this en masse with, I don't know, 2500 to 3000 people per facility, six months minimum.
The facility I work in (Nissan Canton, MS) began hiring in 2002 and the first vehicles didn't launch until May 2003.
