Jordan story. Family moved to Durham NC when I was a freshman in college in 1988. Went there for the summer and got a job at a local country club as a lifeguard. One morning word spreads that Michael Jordan came to the club and asked the first person he saw if they would let him play golf as their guest. He was dressed to kill and had a brand new sports car. He literally played all day. When the pool closed I walked through the snack bar to clock out. Only one guy in there, MJ. He was standing in front of the vending machine and asked me if there was anyway he could get change. I told him no because the Snack bar workers had left for the day. He was bummed. I was always getting junk food out of that machine so I always had change on me. Asked him what he needed and said a quarter. Gave it to him and he thanked me and bought Andy Capps hot fries. Back then he seemed like a normal guy.
