Try substituting Nocello for the sugar cube or simple syrup. Gives a very subtle walnut finish that’s very nice.
2 oz of your favorite bourbon (I like Woodford Reserve Double Oaked or Basil Hayden, among others)
1/4-1/2 oz Nocello
Cocoa bitters
1/2 walnut to soak up and enjoy at the end
1 Luxardo Maraschino cherry if you like
