Didn’t he decide not to play in bowl game against K-State a couple of seasons ago because he was scared and let a 5th year wr play qb for that game?

Scared? I’m sure he would have loved to play. Probably a decision made by his parents, Coach Kelly, and Brad Davis (who specifically said he took Nuss playing off the table—that game was not worth a whole year of eligibility). And it’s a good thing for both Nuss and LSU, who get an experienced, mature, upperclassman starting QB for 2 full seasons. Or at least the opportunity for it.

If he hadn’t sat out that game, he wouldn’t even be at LSU still. The extra year of eligible allows him to be the backup at LSU another year without ruining his career and having to put all his eggs in one basket—his would be final season of ‘24. Which is great for both him and LSU in ‘24, ‘25, AND ‘23. This year sets up really well for LSU to make a real run at the NC. It would be a shame if that got derailed by a JD injury if we were forced to try to win games with true freshman Collins.

No it was because he is intelligent and playing the odds in his favor.
Everyone with a brain knew that game meant nothing. So he still had four years.
Why would he waste a year on one game that meant nothing, for fans like you.
