i think he suspected Ricks wouldnt come and kept harris in the wings. Perhaps he was keeping harris quiet until ricks signed, and would sign harris anyway. but, kelly made sure it was not a losing situation.

We were definitely going to take Harris.
We wanted to take Harris and Ricks. At the end of the day we'll add another corner from the portal and we'll have plenty enough there.

Harris was coming regardless of Ricks. However, he told Harris to announce before Ricks announced to calm down the fan base and help with perception of the program. Make no mistakes, chess move by Kelly.

I am glad he doesn't give into the demands. That mindset is what we need to get rid of. I am all right with players getting paid, but greed is detrimental to the team concept. Get aligned

I think he would have for sure taken both. I think he asked Harris to hold off on his announcement not to scare Ricks away. Once he got the final word he told Harris to go ahead.

Amen! Imagine being CBK…living his dream on one hand BUT having to deal with all of the bullshite outside of coaching.
