Like so many others have said, depth was a critical issue. Team was worn down, over the cumulative effects of the season. You fix that by rotating guys in early in the year so our starters get a chance to breath. We couldn't do that this season.
Also, I do think they shot their load against Bama. Wasn't much left in the tank for anyone afterwards. Before you say "they looked fine against UAB", remember a home game against UAB isn't the same as a road game against an embarrassed Arkansas wanting redemption, or a pissed and humiliated A&M wanting to close the season on on a high note.
I think we got about as much out of this team as anyone had any right to hope for, and things will be better next year. People keep forgetting, this team was picked to go maybe 7-5, and not come close to challenging Bama on the field. We were lucky to win the Auburn game, and the Miss State game was looking rough for awhile too.
