Tracked down the bama receiver when they converted on 3-11 with about 8:30 left in 2nd quarter. Sprinted down the field to catch up with receiver, made the tackle, and bama had to settle for a field goal instead of touchdown. Did not give up! Geaux Tigers!

It was great that he did not give up on the play. It was on him. I was surprised he tracked him down. He has some giddy up.

Have to be honest. Between what I saw last year and early this year I did not think he was an SEC quality starting Satefy. Proven wrong!!! Congrats to Burns!!!

If you watch the game you can see the real value of Burns. He was making all the DB calls and getting everyone lined up. There may have been plays that DBs got "burned", but I didn't see any blown assignments and that's why LSU didn't fall behind early. Young was struggling to find open receivers and that was partly due to Burns' effect on the DB group.

Honestly I was surprised he chased him down considering the recent injury.

Assumed that would have cost him some speed, but hopefully that means he's truly back to full health.

On another note: cowboy collar is a weird look for a safety. hope it's only temporary

That was the play of the game not a scoring play. It told Bama that we had the speed and athletes to play with them. Plus saved 4 points in a close game. Props to Burns, dude has NFL speed and heart.

Yeah. He caused it cuz he got Burned in a Major way lol. But he didn’t quit. Which has been a staple of this short Brian Kelly era so far.

Burns showed so much heart doing that especially when giving up on plays is becoming common. Great play by a great kid and I don’t give a chit if he initially got burned. If his effort is indicative of a Kelly coached team, we are in great hands. We need kids like Major to return to prominence.

Well it was his fault to begin with. Not sure why we are praising an F up

Foucha is better.

He was also the reason for the big gain on that play. He took a bad line allowing the receiver to break free.

CBK said in the post game "he better have run him down" or something like that.

It is great he didn't quit on the play though.

I made this thread on the Score Board at halftime Saturday. Said it reminded me of Delpit chasing Auburn dude down in ‘19 that wound up saving points when it would have been easy to just give up. I don’t care if it was Burns’ fault he was open, that’s just another example of the will of this team.
