At our platform during state we had a judge red light a lifter without a warning for having a rubber band on his wrist that had just came off of his wraps for squat. Here's the kicker, to get on the floor, you have to wear a wristband like you would wear to show cover for being in a bar. I told the coach to appeal that bullshite. He did and won the appeal. The kid should have been warned not given a bad lift after the judge caught it after a good lift was awarded. If you are caught twice you don't get the lift.
On the beads I'm not touching with a 10 foot pole. As somebody stated earlier, the coach and lifter should have known the rules, which were posted online back in November. The doo rag and headband rule was put into affect because of lifters from Lake Cormorant, who were all clean cut, and just wore the things to wear them. I could see if they had long hair or braids which they didn't. They did it just to look cool. Powerlifting judges and soccer guru rules experts can be the worst. Some will even try to make up fake rules and claim they are a rule.
