Yeah, why would he agree to that? It would be like a football team who is winning by 21 points in the fourth quarter agreeing to some suggestion that "ah, whatever, let's just call it a tie and all go home".

The guy might be President of Russia in three days, maybe sooner.

I imagine a deal could be brokered to end this, but Lukashenko is probably the last guy who would be able to broker it.
