5 fumbles against an absolute nobody shows a complete collapse of player attention. Players play up to the ability of their coaching staff; when the head coach is swimming in his own shite, it shows on the field. Malzahn is done, as proven by the fact that he was spooked enough to run an injured RB 34 times against Mercer in order to preserve the victory. He is well past the point of "playing not to lose".

I'm with you on that, my biggest concern is that this season is starting off very eerily to the same feeling I had in 2008 and 2012 where I had a feeling that the team just had no chemistry.
- The receivers dropped passes today that looked like they genuinely didn't give a frick.
-Stidham is still standing in the backfield with the ball for an eternity is a serious problem.
- Pettway has been banged up supposedly yet we aren't running anyone else, even against a Mercer team that our 4th string back should get a hundred if we wanted him to.
- Carlson is missing chip shots for him.
My concerns aren't that it seems like we are calling bad plays but the lack of effort on the plays.

This. We didn't play terribly. Not good enough run blocking. But the main problem was all the fumbled. At least one other was fumbled out of bounds. Just s very sloppy effort
I didn't see any reason to downgrade our potential the rest of the season. I don't see us beating any of the main 3, and for that Gus should be fired.
However, 8-4 is possible. Hell of a lot better than what many of you are saying right now.

We want you to do a better job preparing the players to execute a game plan. If we can't outrecruit Mercer, you need to resign.
