It's something that's missing this year. The guy encouraging on a the sideline, the guy supporting, the guy first to arrive and last to leave. I'm waiting for a player-leader to step up.

It may be just me but I think Barber is picking up that mantle.

Unfortunately, this might be one of those attributes that a player has or doesn't.

Still, it's difficult for me to imagine that out of the entire roster, there's not a single player who has leadership ability.

We saw it in Carl during his freshman year. He grabbed Ford (?) by the facemask during the IB telling him not to be stupid. Maybe being injured makes it difficult to maintain a leadership role...especially when you don't travel with the team.

Jeremy Johnson has never shown any leadership qualities. The press clippings his entire time at Auburn have been about how the staff has wanted him to be more of a "leader". He just isn't one.

Why is this question brought up everytime a team starts losing?

News flash: we have the same amount of leadership that we did last year and the year before that. The supposed leaders get too much credit when we're winning and not enough when we're losing.

Monty Adams is too busy being pushed back 5 yards to be a leader.

well it would have been Lawson, i don`t think you can over value what the hip injury did to us. Still remember him chewing out Mincy for that cheap shot in the iron bowl.
