Would you rather win the SEC, make the playoffs, Stidham go pro after one year, and Sean White start his senior year?

Or Stidham have a sub-par season, not win anything and him stay 2 years to make another run?

Upvotes for first scenario..
Downvotes for second.

Neither.

Sean White will never play another down, unless its mop up this year. JMO

Go undefeated. We win mostly with defense. Have some lucky breaks in the process. Win national championship. Media claim it was luck/defense and not offensive skill. Stidham comes back and we do it again with more offense just to prove a point.

And as soon as people realize this, they will be better off. Sean is not, never has been and never will be the QB that Auburn needs or should want.

If Stidham goes pro, gets arrested, transfers or gets a sex change operation, Malik Willis will be our QB.

Now can we move on.

So you think, if Stidham goes pro, Willis(RFr/So) beats out White(SR) in 2018?

There is no right or wrong. Purely speculative.

Thank you. I just wanted to gauge how tangible the hate for SW13 is on here and you have provided that sentiment.

He may not be All-SEC but I feel he is serviceable. Alabama won a championship with Greg McElroy at QB for god's sake. We have had, will have and will have had won with worse. I think he is efficient when healthy.

Could very well be the case..

Agree. I love Sean White's heart and mental toughness, but his days as anything more than a backup at Auburn are over barring any unforeseen issues with Stidham or Willis. Maybe he can get a good grad transfer season in somewhere in 2018.

Why would anyone choose anything except option 1. Though I doubt SW would finish the season as QB in 2018.

I have nothing against SW, but he isn't a championship level QB at Auburn. Using GM from bama isn't a fair comparison. the level of talent surrounding him is higher than what Auburn has currently.

But Bamas talent in 2008 wasn't higher than AU has right now, and they were ranked #1 and 10 minutes away from winning the SECCG and playing for a BCSC with John Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson at QB.

Would I rather win the SEC and make the playoffs or not is pretty much the question you're asking...

SW was one of the most efficient passers in the SEC when he was healthy. It's easy to sit behind a keyboard and call someone brittle when you aren't out there scrambling for yards and taking hard licks.

Edit: Not saying that you called him brittle but that is a cause of concern for those that don't think he's a championship QB.

You should do a roster comparison.. would be interesting. I just think they are the same type of QB.

I like the scenario that is most likely to happen better.

If you have paid any attention to my posts on Sean for the past few years, you will know that is totally not the case. I told you guys the first time Sean played for us that he was not our QB and never would be what we needed. I have never swayed from my original statement. Love the kid, just not what we need. You guys roasted me for it and most of you swore he would be the next coming. It was easy to see that he was a bad fit but I guess his epic win against Kentucky made everyone all fuzzy inside.

Yea and a pretty good staff and group of players around him with a very very good defense.

We have never won a championship with worse. Marshall and Cam are both light years ahead of Sean White for Gods sake. And isn't that the goal? Not 8 games and a guy who is "accurate" but a Championship?

Malik Willis has so much more upside that Sean it is not even close

Sean is done. And he should be

That team also had more than twice RD1-2 draft picks on that one team than Auburn has had in the past decade

Also, Alabama fans all viewed McElroy as a clear dead weight at QB. Not sure White is even better than McElroy and McElroy wasnt good
