I don't understand at all what goes through Gus's head when he makes some of these terrible calls.

Other than the runs up the middle on 1st and the bubble screen, I actually thought it was better.

Play calling is fine.., execution was the issue early, specifically the drops.

Not calling the bubble screen would do more harm than good

Pretty easy to see that Chizik is still meddling in the offense

Because F U, that is why.

How many of those 4 that were not runs were bubble screens for no gain?

But for real, i think we must have the most plays designs on the playsheet for second and long. That is the only reason I can think of.

The wife was laughing when I kept hollering "stop giving fricking downs away" time after time after time. She said "you know what's coming, dumbass. You seem shocked". Kind of sad when the wife knows what's coming.

Speaking of wasting downs...

I've been annoyed for a while when we do the true hurry up after Barber makes a really tough run where he breaks tackles or when he makes two runs in a row. You can tell when barber is gassed. He seems to seek contact and people to run through, he isn't like Mason that could run several quick plays is succession because he was shifty enough to avoid big hits. Everytime Gus does that, Barber is too tired to do anything other than run straight until he hits whatever is in front of him, usually for no gain at that point.

I get that we can't substitute if we want to snap immediately. But have White keep it to give Barber a blow, then come right back to Barber.

To be clear, I like the quick snaps when we get going and Barber can certainly run 2-3 times in quick succession like he did in OT. But not when he has one of those multiple tackle breaking runs where he takes a bunch of shots, which happens regularly.

Barber has been our savior this season but he also misses ALOT of holes. Jovon Robinson needs to get healthy.

Its been the same since he got here and always will be. People do not change. He lets his ego and competitive spirit get to him sometimes.

In the past, it has made me furious. Not anymore. I know its coming. Its just a matter of time each game

KJ is our best offensive weapon right now. He is the main focus of the new Gus attack. Kid is doing great for a true frosh.
