October 5th, 2014: the day after we demolished LSU 41-7, the most complete domination of a ranked opponent by an AU team since the 2010 SECCG.

We were a solid consensus #2 in the major polls, behind the only team that had beaten us in our 15 previous games (and that was in the final seconds of the BCSCG), and had double-digit first place votes in both the AP and the Coaches.

We were headed into a matchup with the #3 team in the country, knowing a win would almost certainly move us to #1 in all the rankings.

The average score of our first 5 games was 42-14. Four of those wins were over teams that would play in bowls that season, three of which were P5 conference programs.

Gustav's overall record as an HC was 26-5, including a 17-2 mark on the Plains. He had won 23 of his previous 24 regular season contests.

What the frick happened?

I'm still shocked how bad the defense tanked last year after the LSU game.

This year has sucked balls. Things always change so fast for AU. Can't have consistency.

The Auburn rollercoaster happened. See Bowden and Chizik.
